What is diode and it’s uses

A diode is an electronic component that allows current to flow in only one direction and blocks it in the opposite direction. It is made of semiconductor materials, typically silicon, and has two terminals: the anode (positive) and the cathode (negative).

Key Characteristics:

  1. When the anode is connected to the positive terminal of a power source and the cathode to the negative terminal, the diode conducts current (allows it to pass through).
  1. When the anode is connected to the negative terminal and the cathode to the positive terminal, the diode blocks current (does not allow it to pass through).

Diodes are used in a variety of applications, including:

    • Rectification in power supplies (converting AC to DC).
    • Signal demodulation in radio communications.

A common type of diode is the LED (Light Emitting Diode), which emits light when current passes through it.

    why we use diode

    rectification,protection purpose

    without diode circuit possible

    yes possible depend o circuit
